Not the Last Post

I always thought I'd go out with a bang instead of a whimper but, well what can you do? You put up your last post with the words you have, not the words you want.

My interest in blogging has waned severely as of late. Other aspects of my life have taken priority and, alas, my blog has taken a backseat to it all. I thought I would make it to the two-year mark, and came pretty close, but, I don't want to drag it out like that.

I think the thing that really helped me decide it was time to hang it up was the loss of one of my most loyal readers, Peacechick Mary. She recently stopped blogging for what I understand were reasons similar to my own. One thing I knew I could always count on was a thoughtful comment by Mary on almost all of my posts, even the crappy ones. There were plenty of those, but Mary kept coming back for more. I'll miss you, Mary.

I was happy to see that two of my fellow bloggers, Kvatch and John Good paid tribute to her and that John, being the ever-thoughtful guy that he is, even took the time to claim Mary's blog address in the event that she might want to get back to blogging in the future. Nice work, John.

The greatest experience of blogging has been my ability to connect to a community of people who, while not always agreeing with everything I had to say, were always there to read what I had to say. That has meant a great deal to me and I thank each and every one of you for taking the time to click on the PTCruiser link on a regular basis to check in on me and see what was going on in my mind on any given day.

I'm not going to shut down the blog because there are links on the right to some really great people's blogs. Go ahead and click on them. They're fantastic sources of information, opinion, and even a good laugh every now and then. Another reason is the remote possibility that I may decide to pick up where I left off and start writing again.

In closing, there are a few people in particular who I need to thank.

I'd like to thank my father for reading and offering fatherly advice on this blog. Much appreciation to my Uncle Dennis for e-mailing me all of the great political material which ended up being some of my best posts.

Thank you to Celticfire, my comrade who has led me down the path of discovery that is Maoism/Leninism/Marxism. (I'm still learning)

Scarlet, you're not getting my cardboard. While I may be giving up on blogging, there is no way in hell that I'm going to stop freewayblogging. I want to thank you for teaching me a craft that I will continue to use for the rest of my days. No matter who is in office, or what may be going on in this world, I will always have the ability and know-how to exercise my right to free speech in the most effective and efficient way possible. You can't put a price on that kind of experience. I'm looking forward to our next great adventure. And for those of you who tune in here to see my latest freewayblogging adventures, you'll still be able to see them by clicking on Scarlet's name at the top of the paragraph.

Last, but certainly not least, a huge thank you to Spocko, of Spocko's Brain. You were the initial spark that got me thinking I could pull off something like writing my own blog. I've enjoyed every moment of it, and I have you to thank for that. It's been quite an adventure, kicking sand in the face of the beast that is the local Hate-Talk radio station. Here's to our future collaborations.

Thank you everyone. I'll be back to check on you, so make sure you all behave. Don't make me pull this blog over to the side of the road and smack you.

And remember...

Isn't that right, Jesus?

"You da man, PT!"

Dude...I am so sorry to see you hang your last sign. Hope you do decide to return but certainly understand the desire to concentrate on other stuff.

Regardless... I hope you keep on checking in (blogs, email, whatever...) and can make it to a Barbarian gathering some day.

Take care.

Nah, don't take it too personally, evil spock. It's probably big black SUV's with darkened windows and no plates dumping shit in our water on moonless nights, or those damn contrails from overhead jets putting it in the air we breathe, or sending it into our homes in innocuous enough looking junk mail. However it's delivered, this is what happens eventually to all liberal/radical/extremist/revolutionary blogs.

Thinking of PTCruiser as part of a naval force, then we just lost the backbone of this battle group. Oh, sure, there are others out there that will continue the fight. It's just this is such a bitch because few if any of us even saw this coming on the radar.

So, PT, you may have lost your spirit for blogging (for now), but I know you'll never lose it for the revolution! Good luck, MF! (Whoops, My Friend)

At least you're leaving the blog open. That's a start. But you don't have to leave it completely. Stay away for a few weeks, a few months, take as long as you like, but blogging can be extremely cathartic. One day you'll see something that makes you want to scream. Take that anger, walk over to your computer and spew your guts all over the digital page. Then contact Joh or Kvatch - or even drop me a line, we'll be happy to alert everyone that you have something to say. You're voice is too important to slither off into the darkness of cyber space - besides I still want to do some freeway blogging with you when I come out west to visit my little sister. :)

John,
I'll keep in touch. Take care and thank you for being a huge part of this great experience.

Evil One,
It is you. But I'm still under contract to command the robot armies. Fear not.

Dada,
The revolution never stops. It merely transforms. Take care, comrade and feed that editor of yours a biscuit for me.

Enigma,
Keep a light on for me. I'll be checking in on you now and then. Thank you for the tribute. It's through you that I found most of these great blogs in my blogroll. I thank you for that.

Robert,
Thank you, my good man. If I ever make a comeback, you'll be the first to know.

I've only visited once or twice and that's my fault.

The times I did I just didn't have anything to add to the post.

I'm just coming up on 1 year next month and like you I miss Peacechick too.

She always came by and even if I didn't think my post was good she always left a comment.

I'm gonna add your link in the next day or two and I'm sorry I didn't get it up earlier.

Take care and I hope all your plans work out like you want.

God Bless.

I read this "last post" the other day & was so bummed out, I couldn't think of anything to comment. I always enjoyed your take on things & am glad you will be maintaining the free speech fwy signs, which I hope to view in person someday. You are my idea of a true patriot, PT! I hope to see you around on other blogs & count on you to at least let us know when the revolution has begun, because I know you will be in the vanguard. Until then, peace to you and your family and loved ones. ~~ D.K.

Sorry you're closing up shop, but I can understand why someone would. I often think of all the time I spend sitting at the computer that could be put to better uses, such as recording some of the music I write, going out for walks, petting Baby Mackie, talking with my family... I am going to try to cut back to 2-3 posts per week, anyway. But then there are all the other blogs I like to spend time visiting... sigh...

Anyway, you have been an inspiration. Thanks for your comments over at my place, and for your valuable advice re. freeway blogging, and most of all for your friendly, impish spirit. Be good, keep putting up the signs, and stop by my little cavalcade of misery from time to time! Cheers! Snave

Daily Kos: CIA Engineered Controlled Opposition?
The News - Latest News
Written by Administrator
Thursday, 27 September 2007
KirtNimmo.com - Is it possible Markos Alberto Moulitsas Zúñiga, leader of the “Kossaks,” that is to say followers and fawners of the Daily Kos, is a CIA operative? Francis Holland, posting on the My Left Wing messageboard, details Moulitsas’ relationship with the CIA:

“Markos Moulitsas Zúniga, owner of the DailyKos website, now admits that he spent six months in the employ of the US Central Intelligence Agency in 2001,” writes Holland. “In a one-hour interview on June 2, 2006 at the Commonwealth Club, Moulitsas, also known as ‘Kos,’ admitted that he was a CIA employee and would have ‘no problem working for them’ in the present.”

“I applied to the CIA and I went all the way to the end, I mean it was to the point where I was going to sign papers to become Clandestine Services,” Moulitsas admits in the interview. “And it was at that point that the Howard Dean campaign took off and I had to make a decision whether I was gonna kinda join the Howard Dean campaign, that whole process, or was I was going to become a spy. (Laughter in the audience.) It was going to be a tough decision at first, but then the CIA insisted that if, if I joined that, they’d want me to do the first duty assignment in Washington, DC, and I hate Washington, DC. Six years in Washington, DC [inaudible] that makes the decision a lot easier.”

Ptcruiser...

I understand about "blog fatigue". Your voice is an important one, we would wish you might reconsider. An alternative, just keep the space up and blog whenever you feel really inspired.

In my case, I had felt compelled to write 500 to a 1,000 words everyday and format it pics and videos. Too much.

A good rest, a good woman, a beer can change everything.

In any case, your work has been noticed and appreciated.

Iran will have nuclear weapon in three years: Mossad

Iran Defiant at Israeli Missle Test

Israel's Mossad spy agency estimates Iran will develop a nuclear weapon within three years and continue to provide rockets to regional armed groups, a newspaper reported on Tuesday.
Mossad director Meir Dagan, in an intelligence assessment presented to Israel's powerful foreign affairs and defence committee on Monday, said the Jewish state would face increased threats on all fronts, Maariv daily said.

Dagan's estimate of Iran's nuclear ambitions differs sharply from an assessment by the US intelligence community late last year that said Iran had mothballed its nuclear weapons programme in 2003.

That report compiled by 16 US intelligence agencies said the Islamic republic would not be able to attain a nuclear weapon until 2015.

Israel has questioned those findings, claiming that although Iran may have temporarily halted its nuclear drive five years ago it has since relaunched it while pressing ahead with a public uranium enrichment programme.

Tehran has always insisted its nuclear programme is for peaceful purposes.

In Monday's report, Dagan also predicted that Tehran would continue to supply more and better rockets and training to Palestinian militant groups in the Gaza Strip.

Dagan added that Iran's allies Syria and the Lebanese Shiite militia Hezbollah were also working to develop an increased rocket ability.

"Syria is improving its surface-to-surface missile system and today the quantity of missiles and rockets is twice as large as two years ago," Dagan said, according to Maariv.

Israel has long perceived Iran as its greatest threat, especially after Iran's President Mahmud Ahmadinejad relaunched its nuclear enrichment programme and repeatedly predicted the demise of the Jewish state.
