Back From Reno - A Proud Moment

Whew! It was quite a weekend. My throat is still a little hoarse from all of the yelling. Our dancers were amazing. All of them really put everything they had into their performances, and it showed. We had two dancers place in the final round and one of them was MY DAUGHTER! She took third place in her category, Tamahine ages 5 to 8, and I couldn't possibly be more proud of her.

So, at Peacechick Mary's request, I went to YouTube to see if I could find any kind of videos from this weekend's competition, and lo and behold, the one video posted so far is one with my daughter in it. And here she is....

Heiva I Reno 2007

Note: Turn your volume down, the yelling and screaming is pretty intense (and yes, I'm one of them). Also tilt your head to the left for about half of the video because it was shot with the camera turned sideways.

Thank you, Sumo. She really was wonderful. She worked very hard for this one. Her reward: pierced ears.

I cannot imagine what first place must have been like. This little girl is darling and also amazing. Damn right, you should be proud.

Fred the Cat did get new catnip this past weekend. He said for me to thank you for suggesting it. ;)

Rhea,
Thank you very much.

Dear Other Daughter,
I guess I'm not as "conservative" as I used to be. Get it? She really loves the earrings.

You better come by this week for dinner. Mom and I are feeling sad that your middle sister is out of town. We need our surrogate daughter!

AZ,
Yes, the excitement hasn't died down yet in the PTCruiser household.

PoP,
I know how much I appreciate a good snort of catnip. It's the least I could do for Fred.

The first place girl usually takes first in all these competitions. She dances better than most girls twice her age.

OMG! I actually got tears of happiness in my eyes. First, they are adorable and second, very very talented. You have great good cause to be a proud Dad, well done. Made my whole day!

Your kiddo has talent! So, hopefully you'll go the Natalie Portman route, and not the Lohan route.

Mary and Enigma,
Thank you both. Glad you enjoyed it.

Evil Spock,
We started teaching her the dangers of drunk driving and addiction at the tender age of 6 months.

Fantastic, just fantastic! Thanks for seeking this vid out, pt. You got to be one proud dad right about now! Congratulations to your daughter and those new pierced ears!

I think the pierced ear reward is wonderful. I had to wait until I was 16...and my mother felt she had to scour the biblical implications to see if it was okay. Yeah...I know!
