Castro Far From Dead, Celebrates 80th Birthday

Fidel's Personal Message to Extreme Right-Wing Cubans in Florida:

"I'm not dead yet, assholes. Stop partying."

In a major blow to Cuban expatriate nutjobs in Florida, Castro pulls the old Energizer bunny trick on them and leaves them wondering what they're going to do with all the luggage they purchased to go back to Cuba and bring the country to it's knees "just like the old days" ala Batista and the U.S.A.. Full story here.

This post dedicated to my friend, Celticfire. Good luck to you, comrade.

Today Tony Snow said one of those new photos of FC was photoshopped. I don't know why he would say that. Probably cause he wishes it had been.

My son also made cryptic comments about Photoshop or Weekend at Bernies- You be the Judge.....
( hmm, I do think he is smarter than Tony Snowman though...I hope...)

I'm not ready to buy into the photo-shop "snow"job. I'll concede that the "Far From Dead" post title was a bit much. He's obviously in very bad health, and he said as much yesterday. But I've looked at all the photos with him and Chavez and read now that a video was released of the two of them together today, so...I don't think he's passed yet.

He isn't dead but he's old and sick..and it bothers the living shit out of me that people are like buzzards waiting for him to die. If we had shown just an ounce of compassion in the last 50 years perhaps we would have relations with them..instead of just assuming he is a dick and treating him as such. His country is far from perfect, and I would like to see more personal freedoms there but its not my job to judge. We can not make the world into our image..cuz in reality..this aint the best of all worlds lately either..we still have starving children and people jailed for stupid bs crimes. We have a govt trying to shove democracy down the throats of every middle east country and yet they systematically are taking our freedoms away one amendment at a time..fuckwit sumbitches..

Revolution!

Dusty,
Right on my friend. You said it succinctly in your comment. What would have been so hard about an olive branch with Cuba? Or Venezuala? Or any country for that matter?
Better than turning their infrastructure into bleached bones!

Yeah I couldn't figure out for the life of me why CNN was consulting Chaz Johnson's LittleGreenFootballs on whether or not the photo was doctored. I mean what the hell?

I agree with Dusty- and I am sure the 1600 never thought to send a get well card...I find it so odd that they are so close and yet we treat Cuba so poorly...it is embarrassing..and it ain't about communism- cause then what about China??? oh, that's right - that is sooooo different....but my son said it best...if they found OIL in Cuba -well whole new day then...and then he left the room humming the Beverly Hill Billies theme song...

( I actually worry about Cuba...and what happens when he does die...)
