'Zawahiri tape' praises fighters

An audio tape purportedly by al-Qaeda deputy leader Ayman al-Zawahiri has been posted on a website - a week after an alleged US air strike targeting him.
In the 18-minute tape, the speaker praises Islamic fighters in Afghanistan - but does not mention the strike on a Pakistani village on the Afghan border.
It was posted a day after Arabic TV station al-Jazeera broadcast a message thought to be from Osama Bin Laden.


This is the guy we were aiming for last Friday when we bombed innocent women and children in Pakistan. What do you think of that, George?
