Quote of the Week
"Allow the president to invade a neighboring nation, whenever he shall deem it necessary to repel an invasion, and you allow him to do so whenever he may choose to say he deems it necessary for such a purpose - and you allow him to make war at pleasure."
- Abraham Lincoln

hello congress ... hello people ... thanks for the visit from abe pt
You know, Rory, there were so many great quotes from Lincoln that I actually had trouble selecting just one.
He'll definitely be featured again in future Quotes of the Week.
Pshaw! Some Republican he turned out to be!
Lincoln...what a crackpot, eh? Who does he think he is (was), huh? Gosh, George needs to start saying things all smart and Lincolnfied and maybe then everyone would see what a great statesman he is! Ya think? :>/
Hey, Rex. To use the Poetryman's newly coined phrase, maybe we should start calling Republicans who seem like they actually care about their country "Lincolnfied Republicans".
Of course, then we'd have to actually find some. I believe Abe may have been the last one.
Fare thee well, Abe!
I like Lincolnfied Chikcen! I wonder if we should make a bumper sticker...hmmmm? Let me play with that idea... 1. "Get Lincolnfied Today!"
2. "I've been Lincolfied, how about you?"
3. "Lincolnfied and True!"
4. "Have you been Lincolnfied?"
Hmmmm? :>)
My pick is 3. "Lincolnfied and True!"
Abe had nothing on bush. Today bush said that it's good when a president can say (something like) We have corn.
See, we'll be quoting bush for years to come.
Even though I used to like Abe, I haven't since I realized how he treated Native AMericans. Just awful, but he's still better than GWButthead.
Well at least we recall Abe as the man who went to war to free the slaves, revisionist history being what it is.
Someday Bush will be remembered as the great man that fought the Bourse.
